The Ministry of Environment and Energy of Ecuador (MAE) is the government agency responsible for directing, legislating, and planning public policies related to the environment, water, water resources, energy, mining, and hydrocarbons in the country. This unified institution was created by the Executive Branch's decision to merge the former Ministries of Environment, Water, and Ecological Transition with the Ministry of Energy and Mines. The current minister in charge is Juan Carlos Blum.
