The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) issues the Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).
CNIC (Urdu: قومی شناختی کارڈ) is an identity card with a 13-digit number. It is available to all adult citizens of Pakistan and Pakistanis living abroad. It is obtained voluntarily.

The CNIC includes biometric data such as:

• 10 fingerprints
• 2 iris prints
• 1 facial photo
